💨 Abstract
Heavy rains have been forecasted for parts of the South Plains for this weekend, bringing significant uncertainty with heavy rainfall potential in eastern New Mexico, western and northern Texas, and parts of Oklahoma. The Weather Prediction Center has issued a level 2 of 4 excessive rainfall risk. Rains are expected between this Saturday and Sunday, with the highest impact anticipated from late afternoon on Saturday into early Sunday. Unofficial sources report more than 120 deaths and 160 people missing.
