💨 Abstract
Isidro Pérez, a Cuban immigrant, lived in the U.S. for nearly 60 years under a temporary permit. In June 2025, at 75, he was detained by ICE and died three weeks later in custody due to chest pain and subsequent cardiac arrest. Despite earlier medical issues and complaints about overcrowding and lack of care, details of his treatment remain uncertain. Pérez had faced past drug possession charges.
