💨 Abstract

New U.S. legislation will cut food assistance for over 2.4 million Americans, including families with children, due to expanded work requirements. The law, part of President Trump’s spending plan, affects parents, seniors, and others receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. The final version mitigates some losses, but recipients will still face reduced aid during high grocery prices and increased demand at food banks.
