💨 Abstract
On August 13, 2025, the presence of the National Guard in Washington, D.C., is expected to increase under President Donald Trump's federal takeover. The National Guard is providing administrative, logistical support, and augmenting patrol duties, with 24/7 presence planned. Trump cited concerns over crime, though local statistics show a decrease in violent crimes. More than 100 arrests were made by federal forces in recent days.
