💨 Abstract

El Salvador's Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a law exempting returnees from taxes on belongings up to $100,000, replacing a 2023 law capping it at $70,000. The law also allows for two light vehicles under eight years old and tools of trade without tax, plus incentives for companies hiring retornados. The Ministry of Labor will create a job registry to aid their reintegration.
