💨 Abstract
A federal appeals court in Boston seemed likely to rule that President Donald Trump's decree ending birthright citizenship is illegal. A three-judge panel scrutinized the decree, referencing a Supreme Court precedent from 1898 (U.S. Wong Kim Ark) that affirms birthright citizenship. The judges indicated they were bound by this precedent. If this court also rules against Trump, it would be the second appeals court to do so this summer.
