💨 Abstract

The article discusses the shift in migration patterns where many individuals, initially aiming to reach the U.S., now find themselves staying in Mexico due to strict U.S. immigration policies. Migrants from Cuba, Venezuela, and Haiti have settled in Ciudad de México, finding both challenges and unexpected opportunities. Organizations like Ayuda en Acción México provide psychological and job support, though resources are strained. The city's chief, Clara Brugada, has plans to reallocate migrants from irregular settlements.
