💨 Abstract
On August 8, 2025, the American Heart Association (AHA) published guidelines on ultra-processed foods (UPF), urging the food industry to reduce their production and regulators to limit their approval. While most UPF are deemed harmful, a few categories like certain whole-grain breads, low-sugar yogurts, and nut-based spreads may be acceptable but still require monitoring.
