💨 Abstract

Carlos González, a 26-year-old Mexican, faced detention after a traffic stop revealed infractions linked to his tourist visa and car registration issues. Despite possessing valid documents, he was held in multiple detention centers, including the notorious "Alligator Alcatraz," where he described inhuman conditions. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security claimed he was working illegally and overstaying his visa. González was eventually released after signing a voluntary departure document, but his visa was retained.
