In Pittsburgh, Gary Thynes found a lost pit bull and followed it to a campsite, where he discovered an unconscious man and woman. He called emergency services, who rushed the couple to the hospital. Thynes agreed to care for the dog until its owners recovered. Thynes' act was praised by local authorities, and he revealed he has been sober from heroin for 16 months.
