💨 Abstract
Uruguay's Chamber of Representatives approved a bill to legalize euthanasia, with 64 votes in favor and 29 against. The bill, called "Muerte digna," aims to allow mentally capable adults with terminal, incurable illnesses to end their lives with medical assistance. The proposal now moves to the Senate's Health Commission. If approved, Uruguay could become the third American country to legalize euthanasia, following Canada and Colombia.
