💨 Abstract

The article discusses the economic reliance of Venezuela on petroleum exports, which have been significantly impacted by U.S. sanctions. Despite these sanctions, Venezuela's oil production has increased to over 900,000 barrels per day in 2025, though still far below historical levels. The U.S. recently seized a Venezuelan oil tanker, the Skipper, and plans to seize more, potentially disrupting Venezuela's primary revenue source.
