💨 Abstract

Bruna Ferreira, a 33-year-old Brazilian woman living in Massachusetts, was detained by federal immigration agents near Boston while rushing to pick up her 11-year-old son from school. Despite being in the U.S. since age 6 and attempting to obtain permanent residency, Ferreira was held for 26 days across multiple states. She was released on a $1,500 bail but must wear a GPS monitor and check in with ICE.
