💨 Abstract
The study to be presented at the Digital Media and Developing Minds International Scientific Congress in Washington, D.C., found that mothers who spend more time on social media tend to communicate less with their children, even when not using their devices. Mothers who used social media extensively (169 minutes/day) spoke 29% less to their kids during playtime than those with lower usage (21 minutes/day).
