💨 Abstract
A black bear was seen near a house in the Langley Park neighborhood, Prince George’s County, Maryland. The bear, likely a young male, was startled from its nap and trapped in a tree. Officials tranquilized it with a dart and safely removed it. The bear showed up in several places over Memorial Day weekend as it searched for new territory. It was relocated to Western Maryland and fitted with a research collar for tracking. Neighbors were relieved and grateful for the bear’s safe removal.
