💨 Abstract

Incumbent U.S. president Donald Trump has selected Lt. Alex Grynkewich, a seasoned Air Force fighter pilot, to potentially lead U.S. European Command and become the supreme allied commander of NATO's forces in Europe. His nomination was approved by NATO. President Trump's administration is evaluating potential cuts to U.S. military presence in Europe as the region deals with international conflicts. Prior to this nomination, Grynkewich had extensive military command experience in the Middle East.
