💨 Abstract
In August 2025, U.S. President Trump is urging China and India to stop buying Russian oil, aiming to pressure Russia to cease its war in Ukraine. These countries, along with Turkey, have increased oil imports from Russia since the EU's 2023 boycott. They benefit from lower oil prices, boosting refinery profits. Despite G7 efforts to cap oil prices and limit Russia's revenue, Russia has largely evaded these sanctions.
