💨 Abstract

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) revoked the accreditation of the only recognized drug-testing lab in Africa, located in Bloemfontein, South Africa. The lab, suspended since September 2023 for issues like detecting steroids, failed to address multiple nonconformities. African samples will now be tested in labs in India, Qatar, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey. This relocation increases risks of sample degradation during long-distance transportation.
