💨 Abstract
The estate of Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, has started the process of selling the Portland Trail Blazers, following Allen's wishes to eventually sell his sports teams and direct funds to philanthropy. Allen, who died in 2018, also owned the Seattle Seahawks and co-owned the Seattle Sounders. He had acquired the Trail Blazers in 1988. The announcement was made on May 13, 2025.
