💨 Abstract
The Detroit Tigers' Double-A team, the Erie Seawolves, will be renamed the Erie Moon Mammoths. John Oliver of HBO’s “Last Week Tonight” chose the new name from 47 submissions. The name honors local resident George Moon, who discovered woolly mammoth remains in 1991. The team will debut the new name and branding on July 19, with special events and merchandise planned.
