Marta, a legendary Brazilian soccer player, captained her national team in a 2-1 victory against Japan in a friendly match in Sao Paulo. After stepping down from the national team post-Olympics, Marta had returned to the team but did not captain in her recent game against Japan. Marta, now 39, remains an influential player and will continue with Orlando Pride through 2026.
