In a close match, Merrill Kelly of the Arizona Diamondbacks pitched seven innings, allowing just one hit, to outdo Chris Sale of the Atlanta Braves. The Diamondbacks won 2-1. Justin Martinez sealed the victory by striking out Michael Harris II with the bases loaded in the ninth. Kelley struck out eight and allowed only one walk. Martinez secured his fifth save by getting five crucial outs. The win is the Diamondbacks' third consecutive victory.
