Faith Kipyegon of Kenya set a new world record in the 1,500 meters at the Prefontaine Classic, finishing in 3:48.68. The 31-year-old, a three-time Olympic champion, broke her own record of 3:49.04. Ethiopian Diribe Welteji was the runner-up. Kipyegon previously set a historic mile time of 4:06.42,
