💨 Abstract
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) has introduced a new "Tap. Ride. feature allowing passengers to use contactless credit or debit cards at faregates. This feature eliminates the need for SmarTrip cards and reduces the hassle of navigating the payment system. Only cards with the contactless symbol can be used. Users simply tap their card at the faregate to enter and exit.
