💨 Abstract
Swiss authorities evacuated approximately 300 people and 236 livestock from a village in the southern Lötschental valley due to potential landslides. logging to unstable soil, the area is at risk due to a mass of rock and a glacier. Although there have already been minor landslides, the villagers and cows await safe return as conditions make assessment difficult. The nearby village of Brienz faced similar evacuations in 2023 and 2024.
