💨 Abstract
A snake found in the cargo hold of a Virgin Australia flight bound for Brisbane delayed the plane in Melbourne. The 60-centimeter (2-foot) green tree snake, native to the Brisbane region, likely hid in a passenger's luggage. Despite initial fears of it being venomous, the snake was harmless. After a 30-minute drive and security delays, snake catcher Mark Pelley successfully captured the snake, preventing the need to evacuate the aircraft.
