💨 Abstract
The $660 million Capital Beltway expansion in Virginia is nearing completion after nearly four years. On June 27, crews plan to shift the southbound lanes to start finalizing the express lanes. This project, a partnership between VDOT and Transurban, will add two express lanes in each direction to the existing four. Construction will temporarily adjust traffic patterns and narrow shoulders.
