💨 Abstract
As of August 2025, two large Northern Virginia school districts begin their new academic year with noteworthy changes. Fairfax County introduces mandatory weapons detectors at middle and high schools to enhance security. Both districts implement stricter cellphone policies, requiring devices to be stored away during school hours. Prince William County equips all middle schools with new iPads and introduces new career-focused programs, including pharmacy technician and emergency medical technician certifications. Both districts have focused on fostering positive learning environments.
