đ¨ Abstract
This week, Democrats and Republicans in Virginia will nominate candidates for a special election to replace the late Rep. Gerry Connolly. Connolly, who represented Fairfax City and much of Fairfax County, died on May 21 after a battle with esophageal cancer. Democrats will hold a three-day "firehouse" primary followed by an all-day caucus to select their nominee. Republicans will have a party canvass on June 28.
