CJ Abrams' single in the ninth inning scored Robert Hassell III, helping the Washington Nationals beat the Athletics 2-1 and end a six-game losing streak. Jeffrey Springs pitched well for the Athletics, retiring his first 15 batters. Adams homered for the Nationals, tying the score before Abrams' winning hit. Cade Cavalli returned from injury, pitching 4 1/3 scoreless innings, and was well-received by the crowd.
