💨 Abstract

Swiss authorities evacuated approximately 100 people from the Alpine village of Blatten due to a mudslide threat. The evacuation, which occurred on Saturday night, was orderly, with residents finding accommodations with relatives, friends, or in nearby hotels. The risk of rockfalls from the Kleine Nesthorn Mountain and the Birch Glacier may delay residents' return until at least Tuesday. Several hiking paths and roads were also temporarily closed.
