💨 Abstract
The Monastery of Simonos Petra, located on a cliff above the Aegean Sea in northern Greece, is part of the autonomous all-male monastic community of Mount Athos. Known for its diverse international community, it houses monks from various nations, including converts from non-Orthodox backgrounds. This monastery stands out among the 20 on Mount Athos for having the greatest range of nationalities. The peninsula is home to monasteries from Russia, Bulgaria, and Serbia, among others.
