💨 Abstract
French Prime Minister François Bayrou faces a parliamentary inquiry over alleged abuse at a Catholic school in Bétharram, where several of his children were students. Over 200 complaints of physical and sexual abuse spanning five decades have been filed, including dozens of alleged rapes by priests. Bayrou has admitted to knowing about a single incident in 1996 but is accused by opponents of lying to parliament.
