💨 Abstract
On May 22, 2025, Romania’s Constitutional Court unanimously rejected a request by hard-right candidate George Simion to annul the presidential election, which he lost to pro-European Union opponent Nicusor Dan. Simion had alleged foreign interference and vote manipulation. Dan secured 53.6% of the votes, winning by a margin of over 829,000 votes.
