💨 Abstract

In southern Lebanon, municipal elections tested support for Hezbollah, months after the Israel-Hezbollah war. Hezbollah and its ally, the Amal group, are expected to win mayoral races and most council seats. The vote occurred amid ongoing tensions, with recent Israeli airstrikes and a reconstruction effort estimated at over $11 billion. Hezbollah's resistance narrative remains strong among voters.
