💨 Abstract
In eastern Congo, a Congolese soldier shot and killed two colleagues, with a third dying from injuries, during a pay-related altercation in Mungazi, North Kivu. Eight others were wounded. The military spokesperson stated that the perpetrators are in custody and will be punished. Meanwhile, local residents initially thought the violence was from M23 rebels, one of many armed groups in the mineral-rich region. The incident highlights the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis in eastern Congo.
