💨 Abstract
In northern Syria, a contractor in Maarat al-Numan discovered an underground Byzantine tomb complex over 1,500 years old. The find occurred during a reconstruction project following the Syrian civil war, which ended with the fall of President Bashar Assad. The tomb, featuring stone tombs and carvings of crosses, dates back to the Byzantine era.
