💨 Abstract
Egypt has reassured Greece and the Greek Orthodox Church that the sovereignty and religious significance of the Saint Catherine Monastery will be preserved. This follows a court ruling affirming state ownership of the land but recognizing the monks' right to use the site. The Patriarchate of Jerusalem had expressed concerns about maintaining Christian worship at the monastery, which Egypt has addressed with assurances of no infringement. Egypt's presidency also stated that the ruling reinforces the state's commitment to preserving the monastery's religious status.
