💨 Abstract
Former Barclays CEO Jes Staley lost a legal challenge against a 2023 ban from senior financial roles in the UK for misleading regulators about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) found Staley acted recklessly and without integrity, allowing a misleading letter to be sent. The tribunal upheld the ban, noting Staley's lack of remorse and serious failure of judgment. Staley was also fined, although the amount was reduced.
