Last year, over 1,300 pilgrims died from heat and Saudi authorities are warning of similar conditions this year. Safe conduct measures include hydration, staying in the shade, and lighter clothing with cooler temperatures in the daytime indoors. Children under 12 are banned. Costs range significantly and financial stability are an infuential factor in accessibility.
