💨 Abstract
Over 100 inmates escaped from a prison in Karachi, Pakistan, after a group attacked guards following an earthquake evacuation. All escapees were pre-trial detainees or convicted of ordinary crimes. One prisoner was killed, and three officials were wounded in a subsequent shootout. Authorities have recaptured 78 inmates and are hunting the others. At least one prisoner was killed and three officials were injured in a prison riot in Karachi of more than 100 inmates.
