💨 Abstract
In the Netherlands, a controversial pair of bills aimed at tightening controls on asylum-seekers has passed in the lower house of parliament. The legislation reduces temporary asylum residency from five to three years, suspends new asylum residency permits indefinitely, and restricts family reunions for asylum recipients. The Dutch Red Cross estimates 23,000 to 58,000 undocumented migrants live in the country.
