💨 Abstract
In north-central Nigeria, a boat accident on Saturday near Gumu village resulted in the deaths of at least 25 people. Authorities are struggling to conduct search and rescue operations due to the presence of armed gangs in the area. This incident follows a series of deadly boat accidents in Nigeria, where overloaded and poorly maintained vessels are common, especially during the rainy season. In 2024, at least 326 people died in such accidents.
