💨 Abstract
Colombian President Gustavo Petro visited Haiti to support the country amidst escalating gang violence. Petro announced the opening of a Colombian embassy and pledged to assist with security and aid. He met with Haitian leaders to discuss projects in security, commerce, education, agriculture, and anti-drug efforts. Petro's visit comes as Haiti faces significant violence, with gangs controlling much of Port-au-Prince and ongoing investigations into the 2021 assassination of President Moïse.
