💨 Abstract
Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, despite losing a key election in the upper house, plans to continue his leadership. His party, the Liberal Democratic Party, and its coalition partner Komeito lost their majority, becoming a minority in both parliament chambers. Ishiba will focus on addressing rising prices, high U.S. tariffs, and an upcoming tariff deal with the U.S. by August 1, aiming to achieve a mutually beneficial agreement.
