💨 Abstract
Japan’s former Emperor Akihito, 91, is hospitalized to adjust heart medication. His condition, myocardial ischemia, shows little improvement after two months. Doctors are determining the right dose of a new treatment. Akihito abdicated in 2019 and had heart surgery in 2012 and right heart failure three years ago. His hospitalization duration is uncertain.
