💨 Abstract
In July 2025, Arizona's North Rim of the Grand Canyon experienced catastrophic wildfires, ignited by lightning on July 4. The fires—including the Dragon Bravo Fire and the White Sage Fire—destroyed the historic Grand Canyon Lodge, cabins, and a wastewater treatment plant. The North Rim, about 10% of the park's annual visitors, was closed. Evacuations occurred, and Gov. Katie Hobbs sought a federal probe.
