💨 Abstract
Hundreds gathered at Kurihama beach, Tokyo, for a summer festival blending ritual and seaside festivities. A mikoshi, a portable shrine adorned with Shinto ornaments, was paraded through alleys and onto the beach, where priests chanted and danced. Bearers immersed themselves in the sea, culminating at a ferry terminal for prayers.
