💨 Abstract
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa suspended the police minister, Senzo Mchunu, and initiated an investigation into allegations of collusion with criminal syndicates, following claims by a top police official, Gen. Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi. Mkhwanazi suggested that Mchunu and deputy police commissioner Shadrack Sibiya had interfered with investigations and disbanded a crucial crime unit.
