💨 Abstract

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim warned at the ASEAN foreign ministers' meeting about the weaponization of global trade, particularly due to impending U.S. tariffs on several ASEAN members. Anwar called for regional unity and increased intra-ASEAN trade to mitigate external pressures. The bloc, facing potential duties on exports, will also discuss internal challenges and meet with major trade partners like the U.S., China, and Japan to reinforce its commitment to a rules-based trade order.
